RANKING CRITERIA

Each individuals score on the ranking is based on his/her best points scored in the latest series of provincials (one provincial to count) and also the two last Nationals.

For each provincial regatta, the participants will score single points (e.g. 20 entries; come 1st and you get 20 points, 2nd 19  etc.)

The Nationals will count for double points (e.g. 20 entries; come 1st and you get 40 points, 2nd 38 etc.)

As South Africa get awarded 9 slots into the World Championships every two years, the selection for the team of 9 will be as follows:
  • 1st 9 (nine) places will be based on the current rankings (participants must have sailed at least one Provincial regatta)
  • Discretionary places will be determined by the Selection Committee and may be offered to sailors who:
    • Due to exceptional circumstances fail to achieve automatic selection
    • Performance achieved generally in regattas
    • Age and potential
    • Attitude and behaviour
    • Goals and aspirationsESULTS
    • Other factors the selection committee considers appropriate.
  • The Selection Committee shall comprise of all the committee members of the current International Mirror Class Association of South Africa (IMCASA)
  • There will be no appeals against the selection criteria and the decision of the Selectors.
The IMCASA's policies and procedures are subject to change from time to time.

The IMCASA reserves the right to amend, supplement and/or discontinue at its absolute discretion, for whatever reason, any of its policies and procedures.
